Preamble The answer to one clue must be reversed before entry in the grid, the entry being an encrypted form of a thematic event, using a simple form of encryption. Letters falling in the nine asterisked cells can be decrypted using the same system and arranged to give a word that, in conjunction with the definite article and another entry, provides a title (3,5,9) and context for the theme. Eight other thematic words can be found in the grid, appropriately arranged and including four proper nouns (one letter being shared by two of the words). Solvers must connect the cells containing these eight words with appropriately drawn lines.
