Fourteen answers each have a common feature (appropriately different for each answer) which, taken as a group, should suggest a generic set. Once identified, the fourteen individual members of the set should be substituted (one per light in clue order) for the generic feature before entry into the diagram. As a result of this process, two other answers also require modification prior to entry. None of the modified answers is a word in Chambers, which is otherwise recommended, together with any decent musical reference book or record shop.
Solution Notes (Hide Solution)	Fourteen answers contain anagrams of ENIGMA, suggesting ENIGMA VARIATIONS (Edward Elgar). Each variation of ENIGMA is to be replaced by the title of one of Elgar's variations following normal clue order. The penultimate variation is entitled ***. The crossing lights consequently have the letters STAR replaced by asterisks.
